GC001 College English 1 hour
A course designed to bring the student up to the level of accomplishment necessary for college English. English grammar in a written context is emphasized. Credit is not applicable towards program completion.
GC101 English Composition 1 3 hours
A course in essay writing which balances technical skills and rhetorical theory with a variety of readings.
GC102 English Composition 2 3 hours
A continuation of GC101 with emphasis on research writing. The MLA Handbook is the style guide.
GC201 Principles of Speech 3 hours
A practical study of the art and skills involved in speaking, with emphasis upon voice development and basics of platform manner. Included is practise in delivering various types of speeches.
GC211 Survey of Caribbean Literature 3 hours
A survey of literary works written in English by Caribbean authors and their historical, cultural, and philosophical contexts.

History

GH101 Survey of World History 3 hours
A survey of world history including the ancient Asian, African, and near Eastern civilizations, western civilization from its Greco-Roman roots through the era of the Renaissance, and emphasis on Western Europe from the sixteenth century to the present.
GH401 History of Christian Thought 3 hours
Readings of leading Christian writers and discussion of pivotal concepts throughout Christian history.

Music

GM102 Introduction to Music 3 hours
An introduction to fundamentals of music, conducting, and biblical music philosophy.
Philosophy
GP102 Introduction to Christian Ethics 3 hours
An introductory survey of philosophical issues, methods, and significant personalities in the realm of ethics. This will lead to a study of the ethical standards which are essential to Christian service and conduct. A number of current ethical issues will then be addressed from a Biblical viewpoint.
GP302 Worldviews & Christianity 3 hours
A survey of the great worldviews throughout history and of cults and heresies prevalent today. Particular note is taken of the deviation in the teaching of each when brought into relationship to and compared with God's revealed truth in Scripture.
Psychology
GP202 Introduction to Psychology 3 hours
An introduction to the psychology of human behaviour, with special regard for the Christian viewpoint in the field of psychology. The student is introduced to the regularities and irregularities of mental development in such a way as to enable him/her to arrive at a wholesome interpretation of, and approach to, life's process.

Science & Technology

GS100 Introduction to Computers 1 hour
A course providing basic instruction in five areas: word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, internet, and publishing.
GS201 Survey of Physical Science 3 hours
A course introducing the nature and origin of matter, energy, and physical processes. Included is a general overview of geology, astronomy, meteorology, and environmental concerns.
