Objectives

In order to equip the student for a life of ministry, the following objectives have been established.

Christian Maturity

To encourage mature Christian living so that graduates will:
  • practise spiritual disciplines which will facilitate the life of faith;
  • proclaim to others the salvation available through Jesus Christ;
  • actively participate through membership, attendance and service in a Bible-believing local church;
  • demonstrate holy living through consistent application of Christian principles and obedience to Christ's commands.

To inculcate a wide-ranging knowledge of the Bible so that graduates will:
  • possess a thorough working knowledge of the Scriptures;
  • articulate a cogent, biblically-based world-view;
  • accurately interpret the Bible using a consistently historical-grammatical hermeneutic.

Christian Service

To infuse a vision for, and commitment to, Christian service so that graduates will:
  • engage in vocational Christian service according to aptitudes, gifts and abilities fulfilling God's will;
  • minister effectively in the context of a local church irrespective of vocation;
  • promote and involve themselves in world missions.

Professional Education

To train students in the specialized skills necessary for competent Christian service so that graduates will:
  • serve as pastors, evangelists, missionaries, youth workers, Sunday School teachers and in a variety of other ministries;
  • evidence the skills and traits necessary for spiritual leadership;
  • be equipped to pursue further programs of study.

General Education

To broaden the general knowledge of students so that graduates will:
  • communicate clearly and articulately in speaking and in writing;
  • think logically, critically and constructively;
  • have an appreciation for and participate in wholesome expressions of culture;
  • live and speak redemptively in the world while establishing relationships with people of different cultures.

Personal Growth

To promote the personal development of students so that graduates will:
  • practise a healthy lifestyle;
  • exhibit appropriate skills in personal relationships;
  • understand the nature of emotions and express them appropriately.
